'Children of Heaven': Educational tour for the kids of UDAAN, Telenipara; 11 June, 2023
Almost all of them had been forcibly displaced from their homes, their utensils, ornaments, furniture were looted and their houses were burnt. They were too little to understand the causes of violence, how all of a sudden their closed neighbors became their enemy. UDAAN an educational and cultural activism by Aamra Ek Sachetan Prayas and its friends became a platform 'to stay together', 'to dream together'. This tour was a part of our continued effort to promote diversity. They enjoyed a lot and took notes of the history. It seemed that they were being transported into that period of history which was a distant past.

This day the children of Telenipara, who came to the limelight due to some infamous reasons went to Chandannagore Museum. They had to undergo the trauma of the pernicious riots that shattered many livelihoods. Their enthusiasm knew no bounds because this trip brought with itself fragrance of novelty and freedom from daliy drudgery and tedious monotony. When they stepped outside the confinement to visit the Chandernagore Museum their effervescence and exuberance touched even the elderly. They learnt a little bit of French culture, culture of Bengal and how the old artefacts were recovered from the bottom of rivers. Superbly crafted paintings and specimens of 'nakshi kantha' stole their hearts. Chandannagore Museum speaks a lot on history of Chandannagore and preserves ancient documents of colonial rule, manuscripts, old pieces of handloom etc. They enjoyed a lot and took notes of history. It seemed that they were being transported into that period of history which was a distant past.
